Service was second to none all throughout my stay. The restaurant and bar beautifully decorated. Very impressive pool area. Free parking as guests. Definetly would recommend
Just back from a night with my 3 year old son, had a great time. Food was fantastic, breakfast had so many choices, the manager provided non dairy milk for my boy (thank you again) he is always on the go attending guests, all staff were fantastic. Room was nice and quiet, solid nights sleep for the wee fella and myself, Pool is great for the kids remember and book as it can get busy and limited numbers are allowed at one time. It's great to find a hotel that ticks all the boxes, very reasonable priced too. Highly recommend
Recently attended a business breakfast there and the staff and conference room were first class. Beautifully set up, regularly replenished hot and cold drinks, breakfast especially overnight oats we're delicious! Staff very attentive and it was a pleasure seeing an independently run hotel give the chains a run for their money.
Although the building looks dated and run down slightly from the outside, it's a completely different story inside. Very nice hotel, with a really nice lounge bar area with an open fire to relax in front of on an evening. The staff where all really friendly, especially, the receptionist lady and the young man who manages the bar. Good gym and pool as well as a sauna. However as there are no under 16 yr olds allowed to use the gym maybe this should be clearly displayed when making a booking, but apart from that couldnt really fault it. Definately would be somewhere I would stay again.
Great hotel, very accommodating staff. We had a private function and our guests were looked after both those staying at the hotel and those just coming for the party. Food was amazing, will definitely be back!
Overall not a bad hotel , but there Is space for improvement. Yes Sauna and swimming pool is included in the price but , it's not guaranteed you will have a chance to use it as there is limited space and a booking system and it's only through swimming pool staff. You can't book a space through email in advance. Another surprise is a car park , on arrival I found out it's a paid one. It's not much but it contributed to the overall bad start. Famous breakfast... it's buffet style and the location is nice , but they don't have a coffee machine, which isn't very good. Coffee from the supplied thermos stand tasted just bad. Haggis was very tasty , but there was a limited selection of food and it was the same everyday. I was surprised there were no eggs available or pancakes for kids. Scrambled eggs does not count. Fresh fruits were a pleasant surprise from the other hand. The restaurant / reception / pool staff was helpful and hard working. Overall a good clean base for sleeping which included a sauna and swimming pool. But there's nothing around the hotel , every attraction is a minimum of 20-30min drive away from hotel.
We love this hotel we stay here every month as we visit family. The hotel is spotless and the staff are all amazing and always work very hard and are so friendly, There is so much choice of food for dinner, lunch and breakfast can't fault it. Gavin and chris the owners are so nice and always has time to talk to you which makes our visits special and always nice to see everyone, see yous all again soon. Pam & Derek
